The Engaged Pluralism Initiative is open to everyone: students, staff, faculty, and administrators. There are many ways to get involved with EPI, whether it be attending a workshop, joining a working group, attending an event, or developing and executing an event of your own. If you want to get involved, learn more about EPI’s current work, or tell us about any of your ideas, email us at

Working Groups

We would like to invite new participants into any of our six active working groups:

Support and Funding for Your Ideas

EPI Thrive!

EPI Thrive! funds campus-wide projects that foster belonging, equity, and community-building. Anyone with an event in the later stages of planning can submit a proposal. EPI Thrive! can help make your campus event possible.

Past EPI Thrive! funded projects include the Undoing Racism Workshop conducted by The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond, and a workshop hosted by LGBT SportsSafe.

If you are working on a project related to inclusion and belonging and are in need of additional funding please click here for more information about applying to EPI Thrive!.

Igniter Pitches

Igniter Pitches fund ideas from their beginning kernel to their full flourishing, all with the direct help of the EPI team. Together, the EPI team will work with you to build a community of supporters around your idea to help carry it from concept to execution. You don’t need a lot of experience or connections to get an Igniter Pitch going, the EPI Team will share our institutional understanding and connect you with a network of administrators, faculty.

Past Igniter Pitches have resulted in Vassar Voices & a Global Studies Working Group event: What in the World?: Imagining a Multilingual Campus.
